Feedback Contents Page

After receiving feedback from my teacher on my contents page I updated my contents age by adding a page number at the bottom left of the page and also I got rid of the purple box in the background as it stood out too much. I moved the main image to the left so I could fit photos of other bands onto my contents page so it didn't look like the magazine was all about one band. I still need to collect some more photos for my contents page.

I took the idea of the bottom right block from Kerrang magazine and created my own subscription part to the contents page. I still need to find myself some new fonts that will make my magazine look more professional.

Feedback Cover Page

The first picture shown is my original cover mock design which I had many ideas for. After getting feedback from my teacher on the cover page I had decided to take the advice and change around a few parts to my design. The other two pictures shown are the same but both of them have a different coloured title as I have not decided what title to use yet.

Both the new images show a different font used for my masthead of my cover page and I have decided to make the main image bigger. I have taken off some text below the main text as it seemed there was too much text for the cover page. I have only added one line of text which now looks more suitable and looks more like the magazine I am aiming to recreate which is the Kerrang magazine style. I made the box at the bottom smaller which meant the bar-code and the text next to it would have to be moved so I moved the text and it looks better than before. I have added a banner behind the main text as my magazine inspiration Kerrang magazine issues a banner behind the main text on one of it's cover pages.

Audience Feedback

When receiving feedback off my fellow classmates jack left a comment on my blog allowing me to know what I need to change in my magazine to make sure I get the most marks available. Jacks comment said:

"Callum, your magazine drafts is one of my favorite, it really works with your genre of music and you have a very good idea of where you are wanting to take your ideas and how you would like your finished product to look. The model on your front cover looks really good, she fits the magazine genre perfectly with a serious rock look about her. The image also has no shadow at all which really highlights some good photography and directing skills you have and it really stands pout on your page. I only have one negative and that the front cover bottom burgundy box with text inside, I think you could do with making the text bigger, or making the box smaller, but i feel you need to get remove the space which is above and below the text inside it. I hope i haven't been to picky with that but i am really looking forward to seeing your final product! Keep up with her good work!"

This comment allowed me to know that there were some good aspects on my produced pages and that also there was things that I needed to change to make sure I got the most marks possible. Jacks feedback allowed me to realise that the box on the front cover which I had designed was too big and that I needed to change the size of the box and I have done so and my front cover is now looking better.

Teacher Feedback

With the drafts I have produced I allowed my teacher to look at my drafts and he gave me crucial feedback which would boost my grade in designing my magazine. I listened to his feedback and made improvements to my magazine which will hopefully give me a better grade when it comes to designing my final magazine idea.

Evaluate Class Feedback

After posting my pitch on my blog one of my fellow class mates posted a comment on the pitch to share with me his ideas and comments about my pitch.

Michael Reeder:
"This is a very good representation of text also it shows clearly the main bands which have inspired you. I like your choices for a band name and what you have called your magazine as I think it fits your genre well. Overall a good post."

After reading through Michaels feedback on my pitch I have realised i have some good ideas as other people like them as well. Michael explains on how the representation of text can easily be read so I am glad to know my pitch wasn't too hard to read. I know I had chosen the right example pictures for my pitch as Michael also talks about them as well.

Angus Simmons:
"I think you have good ideas of what you want your final magazine to look like and these ideas are explained well on this short Animoto pitch. Everything works and the names you have come up with relate to the genre."

After reading Angus's feedback I have found out that my ideas are ideal for a rock magazine and that my ideas are good quality. The name I have come up with for my magazine fits the genre perfectly.

Millie Leader:
"I think your ideas are pretty good so far Callum I like the idea that your are doing a rock band as I know there are not many people doing that kind of genre. Your pitch is clear and represents your ideas and outlines your inspirations. You are heading in the right direction! Keep it up! Well done, great work."

Millie left me feedback on my pitch which described the fact that I had chosen a rock magazine and it was a great idea as many people had not chosen to do that type of genre of magazine. Millie also states that my pitch was clear and easy to follow which is good.

Response to Staff Feedback

After receiving my feedback from my teacher I have a strong idea on what I need to improve to make sure that i can achieve the maximum level possible in my coursework. My teacher highlighted in a list the main problems that I would need to improve to reach a level 4 and I have gone back and improved on certain pieces of work.
